Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort

Hacienda Riquelme is a golf resort near Sucina in the region of Murcia, Spain. It is bordered by the La Peraleja. It was originally built by Polaris World and it was part of the Polaris World Nicklaus Golf Trail. Polaris World's recent financial problems has meant that the golf course has changed hands and is no longer owned by Polaris World. These financial issues do not affect the apartments which are owned by private owners and administered by a community of owners.
The resort comprises an 18-hole golf course which is integrated with over 1500 apartments. There are numerous swimming pools, a grocery store, restaurant, golf shop and a bar. The golf course and community are gated with external access only possible through a single gatehouse.
The resort has benefited from the building of Mucia's RM-1 motorway and new slip road. This makes the resort much more accessible and allows residents and holiday makers quick access to Sucina and the beach. Sucina is a 45-minute walk from the gatehouse. The beach is a 15-minute drive away and so access to a car is often essential. There is no taxi company in Sucina and so taxis in Hacienda Riquelme are not common.
