Man-Ching Donald Yu


Yu Man Ching is a Hong Kong composer.

Life and career

Yu earned his B.Mus. degree in piano performance from Baylor University, later he received a Ph.D. in composition and music theory at Hong Kong Baptist University. Additionally, he holds a Fellowship in Music Composition from Trinity College London. As a prolific composer, more than hundred works range from chamber to large-scale symphonic works and have been featured at various international festivals and venues throughout the North and South America, Europe, and Asia including the International Review of Composers, Serbia, the EurAsia International Music Festival, Yekaternburg Russia, the Expo Milano, Italy, the International Festival of Modern Art: Two Days and Two Nights of New Music, and the International Kiev Music Fest,etc. In 2013 fall, the Second Symphony “World” for chorus and orchestra was premiered by the Uzhgorod Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus. Yu's music has been published by Edizioni Sconfinarte and recorded by recording labels including Albany Records.
