Minister of Customs and Inland Revenue


The position of Minister of Customs and Inland Revenue was a Minister of the Crown in the Canadian Cabinet responsible for the collection of taxes and duties and created in 1918 by combining the former positions of Minister of Inland Revenue and Minister of Customs. In 1921, the office of Minister of Customs and Inland Revenue was abolished and the office of Minister of Customs and Excise was created by Statute 11-12 Geo. V, c. 26, and assented to on 4 June 1921. In 1927 the Department of Customs and Excise was abolished and replaced by the Department of National Revenue, and the portfolio became the Minister of National Revenue.
