NOAA-8
NOAA-8, also known as NOAA-E, was a U.S. weather satellite operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for use in the National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service. It was first of the Advanced TIROS-N series of satellites.
NOAA-8 was launched on an Atlas E rocket on March 28, 1983 from Vandenberg Air Force Base. The last contact occurred on December 29, 1985, following a power failure caused by thermal runaway of its battery system.Specifications
