Penelope Mackie


Penelope Mackie is a philosopher and associate professor and reader in the University of Nottingham's department of philosophy. She was the head of department from 2007 to 2010. Mackie has also been a lecturer at the University of Birmingham ; a fixed-term fellow at New College, Oxford, ; assistant professor of philosophy at Virginia Commonwealth University ; a visiting lecturer at the University of Maryland ; and a lecturer at various Oxford colleges. Her research interests include metaphysics and the philosophy of causation. She is the daughter of philosopher J. L. Mackie.
