Pipili is a town and a NAC under jurisdiction of Puri district in the Indian state of Odisha. It is famous for designing beautiful Applique handicrafts. It is a town of artisans famous for their colourful fabrics.
Geography
Pipili is located at. It has an average elevation of 25 metres. It is thirty-six kilometres from Puri,and 18 kilometers from Bhubaneswar, at the junction where the Konark road branches from the Bhubaneswar to Puri road.

Portuguese era
The Portuguese first arrived in 1514 settling in Pipli. The relations with the rulers of the Kindgom Orissa were friendly. Settlers came and created a factory, and the portuguese turn in the principaltrading company, exporting Orissa products like rice, cotton and butter from Malaysia to Borneo, and bringing Chinese products and spices from Indonesia. Current MLA from Pipli Assembly Constituency is Pradeep Maharathy of BJD, who won 7 times from Pipili : 1985,1990,2000,2004,2009,2014,2019. He had won this seat representing JD in 1990 and representing JNP in 1985. Bipin Das of INC in 1980, and Kiran Lekha Mohanty of JNP in 1977. Pipli is part of Puri.
