The station is located at 1480 West North Temple Street, with the island platform in the median of the street. The Rocky Mountain Power facility is located just south of the station. Unlike many TRAX stations, Power does not have a Park and Ride lot. Like many other UTA stations, this station has art work included in its design. The art work for the Power station includes benches designed to resemble wind turbines. The combined work is called The Power Station and was designed by Darl Thomas of Salt Lake City. The station is part of a railway right of way that was created specifically for the Green Line. The station opened on April 14, 2013, and is operated by the Utah Transit Authority. It is also one of four TRAX stations that is powered by solar panels located on top of the station's canopy through a project which was initially funded in part by Rocky Mountain Power. All of UTA's TRAX and FrontRunner trains and stations, streetcars and streetcar stops, and all fixed route buses are compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act and are therefore accessible to those with disabilities. Signage at the stations, on the passenger platforms, and on the trains clearly indicate accessibility options. In accordance with the Utah Clean Air Act and UTA ordinance, "smoking is prohibited on UTA vehicles as well as UTA bus stops, TRAX stations, and FrontRunner stations".
Train schedule
On weekdays the first northbound Green Line train leaves the Power Station at about 5:15 am and the first southbound train leaves at about 5:45 am. The last northbound train leaves at 11:06 pm and the last southbound train leaves at 11:35 pm. However, the last southbound train only goes as far south as the Central Pointe Station; the last southbound train to the West Valley Station leaves at 10:50 pm. On Saturdays the first northbound train leaves at about 6:15 am and the first southbound train leaves at about 6:45 am. The last northbound train leaves at 10:57 pm and the last southbound train leaving at 11:24 pm. On Sundays the first northbound train leaves at about 9:15 am and the first southbound train leaves at about 9:45 am. The last northbound train leaves at 7:37 pm and the last southbound train leaves at 8:04 pm. Green Line trains run every fifteen minutes on weekdays and every twenty minutes on weekends.
