Prasuti


Prasuti is a Hindu goddess. She is the consort of Daksha and mother of many daughters by him, including the goddess Sati. Prasuti is the daughter of Svayambhuva Manu and Shatarupa;

Marriage and children

Marriage of Daksha and Prasūti was the first marriage in Hinduism. Daughters were born to them; some of them are Svaha, Swadha, and Sati. Another daughter, Khyati, is married to the sage Bhrigu; their child is the great goddess of wealth and prosperity, Lakshmi.
