Roy Bridge railway station

Roy Bridge railway station is a railway station serving the village of Roybridge in the Highland region of Scotland. This station is on the West Highland Line.

History

This station opened by the West Highland Railway on 7 August 1894.
The station was originally a two platform station, with sidings to the north.
The station was host to a LNER camping coach from 1935 to 1939. A camping coach was also positioned here by the Scottish Region from 1952 to 1960.
The station is now a single platform. The up loop was removed in 1966. The main station buildings and signal box were both located on the up side and were demolished after closure and de-manning.

Services

Mondays to Saturdays, the station is served by three Scotrail trains per day in each direction, northbound to and southbound to, along with the Highland Caledonian Sleeper between London Euston and via Edinburgh Waverley. Sundays see just one train per day call each all year round, with a second in the summer months only and the southbound sleeper.
The sleeper also carries seated coaches and can thus be used by regular passengers from/to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The sleeper calls at Roy Bridge by request only.
