Sahaj Marg


Sahaj Marg, a form of Raja Yoga, is a heart-based meditation system. The essential features of Sahaj Marg are Meditation, Cleaning and Prayer. The cleaning of impressions is claimed to be unique to this method.

Practice

The daily practice includes:
  1. Morning meditation on the supposition of divine light in the heart
  2. Evening cleaning of past impressions of the day
  3. A prayer-meditation at bedtime
Weekly practices include:
  1. Group meditation sessions, typically held twice a week, on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening
  2. Cleaning sessions
  3. Universal prayer, dedicated to the welfare of all
  4. Constant remembrance

    History

The organizational body, Shri Ram Chandra Mission, was formally registered in 1945 by Shri Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur. Shri Ram Chandra was born on April 30, 1899 in Shahjahanpur, in a large town in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India and attained mahāsamādhi on April 19, 1983, at the age of 83. As part of the Sahaj Marg spiritual practice, 'Babuji' adopted a technique called 'pranahuti' as taught by his spiritual master, 'Lalaji'.
