Salukara

Salukara is a type of rice pancake of the Waray people in Eastern Samar, Philippines. It is a variant of the more common bibingka rice cake and uses the same ingredients of rice flour, coconut milk, sugar, and water. It traditionally uses tubâ as the leavening agent which gives it a slightly sour aftertaste, though this can be substituted with baker's yeast. They are cooked in a pan traditionally greased with pork lard. They are commonly eaten for breakfast and for merienda.
