Valencia Half Marathon


The Valencia Half Marathon is an annual road running event over the half marathon distance that takes place in the city of Valencia, Spain. It is organised by the S.D. Correcaminos Valencia sports club, which also organises the annual Valencia Marathon.
The event was first held in 1991 as a race over 20 kilometres known as the 20 kilómetros Ciudad de Valencia and this continued each May up to 2005.. RFEA. Retrieved on 2013-11-02. From 2006 onwards, the competition was extended slightly to become a half marathon. The change coincided with a growth in the number of participants and a higher standard of elite level competition. A record 9328 runners from over 10,300 entrants finished the race in October 2013.
The race attracts top level elite competitors from Kenya, Ethiopia and Morocco, as well as runners from the host country Spain. The course records for the half marathon are 58:18 minutes for the men's race and 64:51 minutes for the women's race.
