Astara TV Tower


Astara Television Tower, is a steel tall Azerbaijani lattice television tower located in the city of Astara, on the southeastern part of the Republic of Azerbaijan, thus the name. Possessing an antenna attached to the tower's pinnacle, which in turn, is guyed on a horizontal cross fixed on the main body of the tower, the Astara TV Tower is used for transmitting FM-/TV-broadcasting, at the same time, for mobile and/or other means of telecommunication.

History

As the city of Astara was undergoing development during the late 20th century, a multi-purpose FM-/TV-broadcasting transmitting television tower was a necessity back then. As a result, the Astara TV Tower's construction was commenced in 1981. In the same year, after several months of construction, the Astara TV Tower was completed. To sum up, the television tower served its purposes for a total of 32 years.
